New favorite storage application - Dropbox

I have recently set up a http://www.dropbox.com account which configures some virtual storage that I can use to transfer files between computers or friend.  We are looking at using it for sharing files in our local Toastmasters club.  The free version gives you 2 gig of storage and you can purchase more storage if needed.  I believe that Google owns Dropbox so look for more integration with Google in the future.

Persuading with Pictures

Dan Roam gave this presentation at the Microsoft Mix 09 conference.  I thought it was a creative look at how to communicate.

TOMS shoes

Went to the Willow Creek leadership conference this past week and heard an interview with the founder of TOMS Shoes. For every pair of shoes they sell they give a pair a of shoes to a child in need. Very cool. After working for 2 years with TOMS you are sent on a "Shoe Drop" to Argentina etc. I love this!

CardStar for the Blackberry

I installed CardStar on my Blackberry today with hopes of having the Code 39 barcode work with our kids check in system at church. It appears that our scanner may not be compatible with the Blackberry screens. The scanner needs to be an image reader vs laser. I am going to try CardStar with some of my other barcodes .. Festival, CVS, Best Buy.
